Why is it generally accepted that many Republicans and Conservatives can get away with calling an organization something other than what it is really called?

The answer is obvious. It's because many Republicans and Conservatives are quite happy with a deluded view of reality, which derides, rather than addresses, other points of view.

What if the New York Times and the Democratic National Committee began referring to the Republican Party as the RepubliCAN'T Party? It would be juvenile. It would be inaccurate.

Why is the mainstream modern Conservative movement so pleased to be juvenile and inaccurate?
